‘The first two years of life are the most important. Observation proves that small children are endowed with special psychic powers, and points to new ways of drawing them out- literally ‘educating by cooperating with nature.’ So here begins the new path, wherein it will not be the professor who teaches the child, but the child who teaches the professor.”
Maria Montessori, Education for a New World
Our Parent - Infant program is designed for you and your infant. This prepared environment offers materials which stimulate the development of language, socialization, motor skills and eye-hand coordination. The materials are beautiful and sized for your infant and most of the materials in the environment are designed to be used by one child at a time.
The classes meet on Saturdays, from 11:00 AM - Noon and are offered in the Autumn, Winter and Spring. Enrollment in these classes is limited to three families to allow for an intimate setting.
The facilitator begins the process of attachment with each infant which naturally deepens with each passing week. Even though most of the time the facilitator is focused on her connections with the infants, there are ample opportunities for observing and discussing your child’s development. The goal of these classes is that through interactions, communication, observations and feedback from the families, we are able to understand the needs of each infant in their stages of development and may then provide guidance that will optimally serve that infant along his/her path.
Please reserve your place for this special time with your infant. The Parent-infant classes are a wonderful introduction to Rose: A Montessori School. We offer a heart-felt welcome to you and your infant.
